Antique Swedish wooden barrel / storage barrel

Beautiful handmade Swedish wooden storage barrel / barrel with lid in a particularly unique shape.

The barrel is made of coniferous wood and is partly round in shape to extend straight out at the rear. (clover shape)

The lid has a beautiful original handmade handle and is decorated with carved patterns.
You clamp the lid between the uprights and secure it with a wooden pin on one side.

The carved patterns can also be seen in the curve of the box.
The bottom of the box is signed/notched with the letters MFD.

A typical piece of Swedish primitive folk art from the 19th century.
