Antique Swedish trough / milk tray
Beautiful, weathered, handmade Swedish trough / milk tray, hand-carved from a single piece of wood.
These troughs served various functions on farms:
- The elongated, shallow shape was perfect for kneading and letting dough rise in larger quantities.
- Dairy processing: they were used to make cheese or to wash and knead butter.
- Slaughtering season: they were used during slaughtering season to salt meat.
