Antique Swedish bridal chest / travel chest
Beautiful authentic early 19th-century Swedish wooden chest, presumably a travel chest or a bridal chest.
Signed with the year 1813.
The chest is reinforced with robust iron bands, which could withstand a bump or two during the journey. The handle is hand-forged raw iron, mounted on a decorative iron plate.
The lock and key are still original and hand-forged, and the lock is in working order.
This chest has the typical reddish-brown color and has acquired a beautiful patina over the centuries.
