Swedish open woven basket
Handmade, openwork Swedish basket woven from wooden strips with open geometric patterns. Typical craftsmanship from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Birch, spruce, and willow wood were commonly used.
The handle is made of thicker wood.
Naturally, nowadays these baskets are highly decorative in the interior, but in those days they were used for picking blueberries, transporting vegetables, etc. They were also known as transport baskets.
