Rare 18th-century Swedish hand-carved wooden bowl
A unique wooden bowl, hand-carved from a single piece of wood.
Such bowls were widely used in Swedish rural kitchens during the late 18th century.
The bowl has been hollowed out by hand from a single solid block of wood. Its simple, rustic exterior contrasts beautifully with the deep blue interior, which boasts a magnificent patina. The interior retains its original, aged blue finish.
The bowl features a drying crack and a hole in the bottom—the result of centuries of intensive use. It possesses a beautiful, well-worn patina.
