Swedish hand-woven cheese mold / basket – 19th century
This is a traditional Swedish root basket, hand-woven from thin tree roots. The base features an open weave with a star-shaped openwork pattern. The weave is completely intact, free of damage, and displays a natural, weathered greyish hue.
Woven baskets of this type were widely used in cheesemaking.
