Antique Swedish Basket in Falun Red – Dated 1888
A characterful, antique Swedish hand-woven basket (spånkorg), finished in traditional Falun red with a dark hinged lid. Fitted with its original iron mounts, hasp, and carrying eye.
What makes this piece truly special is the beautifully calligraphed inscription along the upper rim:
"H. C. B-n. 1888". Such dated folk art pieces traditionally served as bridal gifts, dowry boxes, or personal storage for cherished belongings.
