Swedish wooden stable lantern
Very beautiful authentic Swedish wooden stable lantern with old glass panes inside.
What makes this lantern so special is the artisanal craftsmanship. This lantern was handmade for daily use in the Swedish countryside. It presumably dates from the 19th century.
The construction is held together by wooden pegs, which are secured with a small rod. There is a smoke opening at the top to allow the heat and smoke from the candle to escape.
The handle is a hand-forged iron grip.
