Antique Swedish hand-painted bridal chest - 19th century
This authentic wooden bridal box / dome-top trunk (brudskrin) dates from the 19th century, featuring a domed lid and a beautifully weathered, time-worn appearance. The box is hand-painted all around with graceful floral motifs and scrolling foliage on its original, faded charcoal-black ground with a rich patina.
The interior reveals raw, naturally aged pine, and the back retains its original hand-forged iron strap hinges.
