Swedish storage jar 'katrinplomon' - circa 1900
This pot was an integral part of Swedish cuisine in the 19th century or early 20th century.
The handwritten text "Katrinnplomon" means dried plums in Swedish.
Dried fruit was an important part of the winter pantry stock.
The pot is shaped like a wooden barrel and is very lightly buttered.
